RecordLink Writer

We discovered RecordLink Writer while looking for a way to file e-mails and other MS Office documents under Staff and Student areas. It sounded ideal and has done exactly what it said it would.

It was easy to install the management application and the client install is quick and painless.

Very little training is required and staff have actually seemed happy to cascade it to colleagues because it’s so handy.

The only thing that has required any real reinforcement with staff is that what is filed is a snapshot of the document not a dynamic link.

This isn’t a fault, it is exactly what we need for the purpose of audit and record retention but some people have expected an updated document to appear in the Document Server.

Overall, I’d highly recommend it.
